Osteoporosis

Osteporosis Partner - Aclasta

Osteoporosis is a significant international health problem, affecting an estimated 200 million people worldwide;1 the majority of these cases involve women with postmenopausal osteoporosis (PMO).2 Approximately 1 out of every 3 women over the age of 50 will experience an osteoporotic fracture during their lifetime.

As the mean age of the population increases, the burden of osteoporosis will continue to escalate for both men and women. By 2050, the worldwide incidence of hip fracture is projected to increase by 310% in men and 240% in women,2 which, if left untreated, will result in an increase in all-cause mortality.3

Healthcare professionals are faced with a huge challenge of diagnosing, assessing severity and risk and selecting and monitoring treatment. EPGOnline together with our Osteoporosis partner Novartis Pharma AG  aim to assist in improving patient care, and increase awareness amongst physicians and patients, of this condition.
