Hyaluronans.

Generic Name :

Sodium hyaluronate Cystistat is classed as a medical device not as a medicinal product. As it does not have Drug Tariff approval, NHS prescriptions may be disallowed.

Drug description :

Solution in single-use vials.

Presentation :

Solution, sodium hyaluronate 800 microgram per mL.

Indications :

Temporary replacement of of glycosaminoglycan (GAG) layer in the bladder for symptomatic treatment of interstitial cystitis.

Adult Dosage :

50mL instilled directly into the bladder once weekly for four weeks, then 50mL at four-week intervals until symptoms resolve; see prescribing information.
