Insulins (intermediate-acting).

Generic Name :

Insulin zinc suspension

Drug description :

10 mL vial.

Presentation :

Highly purified beef with pork zinc suspension lente insulin 100 i.u./mL.

Indications :
Adult Dosage :

By subcutaneous or intramuscular injection. Dosage according to individual requirements. Duration approximately 24 hours.

Child Dosage :

By subcutaneous or intramuscular injection. Dosage according to individual requirements. Duration approximately 24 hours.

Special Precautions :

Patients transferred to human insulin should be advised that the early warning symptoms of hypoglycaemia may be less pronounced than with insulins from an animal source.

Dosage adjustments may be required during infection, pregnancy, emotional distress, change in species of origin, type or purity of insulin. Renal or hepatic impairment.

Interactions :

b-blockers, MAOIs, b-blockers, MAOIs, corticosteroids, corticotropin (corticotrophin), diuretics, oral contraceptives, alcohol.

Adverse Reactions :

Lipodystrophy at injection site.
