Drug Class Description :

Carbamates.

Generic Name :

Carisoprodol

Drug description :

125 mg white tablets; 350 mg white tablets marked with P in a hexagon.

Presentation :

Tablets, carisoprodol 125mg , 350mg .

Indications :

Musculo-skeletal disorders associated with muscle spasm.

Adult Dosage :

350 mg three times daily.

Child Dosage :

Not recommended.

Elderly Dosage :

125 mg three times daily.

Contra Indications :

Acute intermittent porphyria. Pregnancy, lactation

Special Precautions :

Renal or hepatic impairment. History of alcoholism or drug dependence. Avoid long term use; discontinue gradually.

Interactions :

CNS depressants, anticoagulants, steroids, oral contraceptives, phenytoin, griseofulvin, rifampicin, phenothiazines, tricyclics, alcohol.

Adverse Reactions :

Drowsiness, dizziness, nausea, lassitude, flushes, headache, constipation, rash.
