QUINOCORT
Drug Class Description :

Antibacterial-antifungals / mildly potent corticosteroids (topical steroids).

Generic Name :

Potassium hydroxyquinoline sulphate, hydrocortisone

Drug description :

Cream.

Presentation :

Quinocort Cream: potassium hydroxyquinoline sulphate 0 .5%, hydrocortisone 1%.

Indications :

Steroid responsive dermatoses where infection is present or likely.

Adult Dosage :

Rub in two to three times daily.

Contra Indications :

Use on acne (including rosacea), peri-oral dermatitis, scabies, leg ulcers, tuberculous, ringworm or viral skin disease. Untreated fungal or bacterial infections. Extensive or prolonged use in pregnancy. Continuous prophylactic use.

Special Precautions :

Limit use in children or on face to max. 5 days. In infants, napkins and plastic pants may act as occlusive. Monitor use in psoriasis. Withdraw gradually after prolonged use.

Adverse Reactions :

Cushingoid changes and adrenal suppression. Skin atrophy, striae and telangiectasia. Velus hair growth.
