This contraception presentation features Dr Annie Evans, a women's health specialist at Bristol Royal Infirmary and Bristol Nuffield Hospitals, looking at LARCs one year on from the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) Guidance (published in 2005), the clinical implications of this and what has changed.

Dr Evans has been a Women's Health Specialist for the last 17 years. Her particular interests are the perimenopause, mid-life contraception and hormone replacement therapy (HRT), and postmenopausal problems. Having also worked extensively in the field of sexually transmitted infections (STIs), she now runs a fully integrated service as Medical Director of Brook, Bristol. A member of the European Society of Contraception, and a founder member of the British Menopausal Society, she lectures both nationally and internationally. She is extensively involved in liaison with the media to improve the accuracy of women's health information.
