Non-Pharmacological Management

Monitoring

Patients with a history of acute coronary syndromes are likely to be on several medications for the secondary prevention of cardiovascular events, including ACE inhibitors (or angiotensin II receptor blockers), diuretics, beta-blockers, antiplatelet agents and/or anticoagulants, aldosterone receptor antagonists and statins.

Specific monitoring requirements will depend not only on which of these medications patients are receiving, but also on their age and the presence of important comorbidities e.g. diabetes, renal impairment.
